🕯 Shabbat at Welwyn Garden City Synagogue
Shabbat is the heartbeat of Jewish life—a sacred pause from the rush of the week, a time to reconnect with ourselves, our community, and our Creator. From Friday evening to Saturday night, we embrace rest, reflection, and celebration in a way that nourishes both body and soul.
✨ What Shabbat Means to Us
Rooted in the Torah and observed for generations, Shabbat is a weekly reminder of creation, freedom, and spiritual renewal. It begins with candle lighting, continues with joyful meals and prayer, and ends with the beautiful Havdalah ceremony. As Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel described, Shabbat is a “cathedral in time”—a sanctuary of peace and presence.
At Welwyn Garden City Synagogue, Shabbat is a time to gather, sing, learn, and share. Whether you’re a regular attendee or just curious to experience the warmth of a traditional Shabbat, you’ll find a place here.
